Ethics
TASA ID:
Ethics have a place in many different situations, including the workplace and legal matters. Sometimes, it is necessary to think internally about your own code of ethics when faced with a difficult decision. Ethical thinking and legal thinking sometimes overlap, but also can not.
"Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do."
This quote speaks a truth about ethical behavior: ethics fill the space between legal rights, and being right. Addressing this difference takes ethics into account, and can make for complications in legal matters when participants either follow ethics or follow the law. This discrepancy can cause differences in opinion and is the root of many legal cases.
