This presentation discussed social media ethics for lawyers and covered how to use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for legal marketing. Ms. Ellis discussed intent of social media marketing and advertising rules. She also provided examples of best practices, as well as ethical issues that may arise when promoting a law firm on social media. About the Presenter: Jennifer Ellis is an attorney with the firm of Lowenthal & Abrams where she practices legal malpractice and ethics. She also manages the firm’s online presence. Jennifer is a frequent author and speaker and is recognized nationally for her knowledge on legal ethics. She speaks and writes on issues including social media, legal ethics, and technology for law firms. Jennifer wrote the book, WordPress in One Hour for Lawyers and the chapter on social media for both the 2013 & 2014 American Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Legal Technology Guide. Jennifer also serves as a law practice management consultant, where she helps attorneys improve the efficiency of their practices and assists with websites on marketing.
